Web-enhanced courses are held in a classroom setting with face-to-face instruction, but some supplemental materials (i.e. syllabi, assignments, handouts, etc.) are available online.

Utilizing this tool set can assist in enhancing peer-to-peer interactions and mentoring activities among learning groups.

Menu Area Recommended Content

Faculty Information Note who you are, how you can be reached, expected turnaround time on questions from students, photo, and brief biography in this section

How do I get there?

  1. Copy course materials from last terms course shell into the current shell and check all links.
  2. Create the organizational (or skeleton) structure of your course. This involves creating a series of clearly labeled folders that will hold course materials.
    • Make a folder for every week or module in your outline or mimic the structure of your syllabus.
    • Enter the Course Information area and create folders for the Syllabus, Grading Policies, Class Rules, and other basic items relating to course sub-folders for sub-topics as necessary.  We suggest that a series of folders be created to house course materials: 1 main folder for the course with sub folders created for each week, discussion topics, and general course materials. For example:

Course Materials

  • Week 1: Introduction, from date - to date (folder)
  • Week 2: Financial Decisions, from date - to date (folder)
  • Week 3: Decision Making, from date - to date (folder)
  • Etc....
  1. Add external resources and supplemental materials to the folders.
  2. Use the Blackboard email for communication with students.
  3. Enhance the "Start Here" section to support the additional materials.
  4. Modify the navigation bar to incude the additional sections added.
  5. Make the course available to students.
