The first section of this tutorial provides information about the integration of selected communication tools into the learning environment, the distinction between the various course roles assigned within Blackboard as well as Blackboard Basics, a series of tutorials used to introduce faculty to the frequently used tools and resources for developing courses in Blackboard.

- Integrating Blogs into the learning environment. This unit discusses the utilazation of group or course-wide blogs to create online learning communities.
- Integrating Wikis into curriculum.
The following are step-by-step guides to a variety of Blackboard course tools. The most effective utilization of this resource is to view the online prior to starting an online activity that requires the tool.
