Creating Content Folders
Use Content Folders as a topical organizer. This tool can be used to house Content Pages, external resources, quizzes & exams, discussion boards, and other content folders. To create a folder:
1. Open your practice course.
2. Click the Materials tab.
3. Click the Add Content link.
4. Click on the Folder link.
5. On the Content tab, enter the following:
- Name of your first course folder in the Title field (in most cases this would be the "Meet the Instructor" area.
- Short narrative for what can be found in this folder should be entered in the Subtitle field.
- Click on the [Save] button to create the folder. The folder will be displayed.
6. Click on the Materials tab to return to the top of the folder structure.
7. Repeat steps 3-5 until all course folders have been created.
Creating Content Pages
Content Pages are used to house specific lessons, tutorials, or lecture materials (the page that you are reading now is a Content Page). To create a Content Page:
- Click on the Materials tab.
- Click on the Add Content link listed under the folder that will house the page.
- On the folder Content Page click the Page link. The New Page form will be displayed.
- Enter a name for the Page in the Title field.
- Enter a short overview or lesson objective in the Subtitle field.
- In the Page Text field either cut-and-paste materials from a word document or type materials directly into the field. (If the materials are not written yet skip down to the net step -- this text can be added later).
- Click the [Save] button.
